TIANJIN — Workers have broken ground on a railway project connecting the Beijing Daxing International Airport and a railway station in northern China's Tianjin municipality.

The first phase of the project began on April 7 in the city of Langfang, northern China's Hebei province, according to the Tianjin Municipal Transportation Commission.

At completion, it will be the fourth high-speed railway connecting Beijing and Tianjin.

Beijing Daxing International Airport went into operation on Sept 25, 2019. It is expected to realize a passenger throughput of more than 100 million a year in the future.
