Updated: June 30, 2020 09:00 Xinhua

BEIJING — The China Charity Alliance (CCA) has issued a set of rules to strengthen the regulation of charity organizations nationwide.

The rules, which will go into effect on July 1, make explicit stipulations on the management of charity archives and projects, social-value assessment of charity programs, and the evaluation of charity communities, among others.

Liu Fuqing, deputy head of the CCA, said that the alliance will organize its members to take part in training this year, with a view to learning the regulations.

China has more than 7,500 registered charity organizations, with net assets totaling about 160 billion yuan ($22.6 billion), according to statistics released by the Ministry of Civil Affairs in 2019.
