BEIJING — China is powering ahead in bringing business and life back on track, with regular COVID-19 control measures in place. The following are the latest facts and figures for the past week:

— Southwest China's Yunnan province, which had the country's largest remaining poor population at the end of last year, has eradicated absolute poverty.

The last nine counties in the province were delisted from the poverty-stricken county list, which meant all its 88 poverty-stricken counties have shaken off poverty.

— The 2020 China International Travel Mart, one of the largest travel fairs in the Asia-Pacific region, was inaugurated on Nov 16 in Shanghai.

The three-day event saw nearly 1,500 representatives and exhibitors from around 50 countries and regions.

— Xihaigu, one of China's poorest areas located in Northwest China's Ningxia Hui autonomous region, saw the last impoverished county shake off poverty.

The last poor county of Xiji in the region has met the standards and been approved for removal from the list of poverty-stricken counties.

— A new air freight route was launched on Nov 17 linking the central Chinese city of Changsha in Hunan province with Osaka, Japan.

At around 12:40 pm on Nov 17, a Boeing-757 cargo aircraft carrying mainly electronic products took off from Changsha Huanghua International Airport in the capital of Hunan.

— South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, home to the country's largest ethnic minority population, has lifted all its 54 poverty-stricken counties out of poverty.

The last eight impoverished counties in the region, including six ethnic minority autonomous counties, have eliminated absolute poverty.
