SW China province appoints acting governor

GUIYANG — Li Bingjun was appointed deputy governor and acting governor of Southwest China's Guizhou province on Nov 24, according to a decision of the standing committee of the provincial legislature.

The 21st session of the Standing Committee of the 13th Guizhou Provincial People's Congress on Nov 24 also accepted the resignation of Shen Yiqin from the post of the provincial governor.

According to a decision from the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee published on Nov 20, Shen has been appointed secretary of the CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee.

Li now also serves as deputy secretary of the CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee.

Li, 57, is a native of Linqu, East China's Shandong province. Before moving to the posts in Guizhou, he served as deputy secretary of the CPC Jiangxi Provincial Committee between May 2018 and November 2020.
