BEIJING — China's State Council announced the appointment and removal of officials on July 22.

Guo Wei was appointed deputy secretary-general of the State Council and removed from the post of deputy director of the Research Office of the State Council, the State Council said in a statement.

Xiang Dong was appointed deputy director of the Research Office of the State Council.

Wang Annan was appointed director of the Yellow River Conservancy Commission, replacing Yue Zhongming. Han Jiecai was appointed president of Harbin Institute of Technology, replacing Zhou Yu, the statement said.
