China’s intangible cultural heritages are taking center stage across the country, especially in Beijing. A regional cultural heritage exhibition opened on June 13. The exhibition showcases the stunning range of arts and crafts that are produced in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

More than 130 intangible cultural heritage works are being unveiled at the exhibition. The artwork on display includes traditional painting, embroidery, ivory carvings, paper-cutting designs, porcelain and more.

Traditional lacquer art is a highlight at the event. With a history of 2,000 years in China, the art form comes in many varieties. There are lacquer paintings, sculptures, furniture and more.

A special area was also designated to invite craftsmen to present their techniques on the spot. It provides visitors with a rare chance to appreciate the cultural heritages as closely as possible.

The regional cultural heritage exhibition runs until June 16 at the National Agriculture Exhibition Center in Beijing.
