China will continue to improve the country’s foreign trade environment to spur growth of imports and exports. That’s according to a statement released after an executive meeting of the State Council on July 15.

Premier Li Keqiang presided over the meeting and said that among other things the government would increase clearance efficiency and regulate administrative and service fees in import and export links.

The meeting also expressed support for cross-border e-commerce and foreign trade service companies, to bolster imports and exports and boost economic growth.

The meeting also promised to stabilize the yuan’s exchange rate at a reasonable level, and to facilitate yuan settlements to help businesses avoid risks in cross-border trade.
