Beijing's newest and largest airport, Daxing International Airport, is about to open.
Besides the subway and an expressway, a bullet train line will connect the city center and the airport some 50 kilometers south of the city.
And the bullet trains will also become a part of a future intercity rail connection between Beijing and Xiong'an New Area in the south.
The line starts from Beijing West Railway Station, one of the busiest stations in the Chinese capital.
The line uses China's advanced bullet trains. They're fast and spacious, with easy storage for luggage.
On this route they have maximum speed of about 250 kilometers per hour.
The bullet train on trial has eight cars that can carry more than 1,100 passengers. And it also feels quite smooth and comfortable while passengers are in motion.
It takes just 20 minutes to cover the 48 kilometers to Daxing International Airport.
The new security doors guarantee passenger safety.
Seamless transportation is realized here at the airport railway station. And it takes only a few minutes for passengers to exit and get to the terminals.
Everything is made easy.
"Passengers who need to transfer can exit at the south side of the station, and they will find the check-in counters for the airport ahead to the right," said Chen Liyang, head of preparatory team of Beijing-Xiong'an Intercity Daxing Airport Railway Station.
No official date has been released for the opening of this line to Daxing International Airport, but it could be as early as the end of this month.
It will carry tens of thousands of passengers a day between the city and the airport.
And later it will join up with an intercity line between Beijing and the ambitious Xiong'an New Area some 100 kilometers to the south.
