The first rib of an arch bridge with world's longest span, 575 meters, was installed on Oct 12 in South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region. Known as 3rd Pingnan Bridge, the bridge has a steel pipe concrete truss structure. The rib installed is 22 meters long, 17 meters high and 4.8 meters wide, and weighs 156 tons.
