Primary and middle schools in Wuhan have stepped up preparations for the resumption of classes for the first time since the coronavirus outbreak in the city.

All schools have installed infrared temperature-measuring devices at entrances, stored enough medical supplies and disinfected their campuses three times a day.

The Chinese education ministry has said that schools cannot reopen unless the pandemic has been put under control and the health and safety of teachers and students can be guaranteed.
