More than 80,000 medical workers have remained on duty during the five-day May Day holiday season in Wuhan city, Central China's Hubei province, the region worst hit by the COVID-19 epidemic, while others are enjoying long-awaited outings as tourism attractions have gradually reopened to the public due to an eased epidemic situation in China.
With continuous improvement of the situation of epidemic prevention and control in Wuhan, many medical workers who once fought on the frontline of the anti-epidemic battle returned home after fulfillment of their missions. Yet, during the busy May Day holiday season, many of them have chosen to come back to their posts to keep fighting the epidemic.
