The Global Guardians: How Chinese prepare for national college entrance exams amid pandemic

Gou Qiang teaches at the high school affiliated to Shandong Normal University. He teaches grade 12, which is known for the highly-competitive atmosphere and intensive workload. Students in this grade are usually hard at work preparing for the national college entrance examination. This year it has become even more challenging due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As COVID-19 prevention and control measures continue to ease, more and more students are returning to the classroom. But that does not mean they can disregard safety. Watch this video to see how one teacher safeguards students as they prepare for perhaps the hardest exam of their life.
