The inauguration ceremony of a comprehensive pilot zone for grape and wine industry was held at Helan Mountains' Eastern Foot in Northwest China's Ningxia Hui autonomous region on July 10.
The area is located between the 37th and the 40th parallels of the Northern Hemisphere, which is deemed the "golden zone" for growing wine grapes.
With abundant sunshine, little rainfall and semi-sandy soil, the zone boasts favorable conditions to grow grapes.
The wine quality has been well recognized.
