Pineapple growers in South China's Guangdong province are seeing a growing demand for their high-quality products from home and abroad.
Xuwen county is the biggest producer of pineapples in China, accounting for about one third of the total production. Previously, Xuwen pineapples were mainly sold at home. After the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement came into effect this year, Xuwen's pineapples were sold to Singapore for the first time last month, and the region has seen a growth in export volume.
Also, local fruit growers say the pineapple big data platform provides sales information in 41 large wholesale markets across the country, which has dramatically helped farmers come up flexible sales plans and make more profits.
