SHANGHAI — Smart technologies and products are aiding China's megacity of Shanghai to fight against the recent COVID-19 resurgence.
The city has been placed under temporary closed-off management after surging COVID-19 infections were logged in recent days.
The first batch of 28 intelligent robots are busy disinfecting the environment inside the Shanghai New International Expo Center in the Pudong New Area, the city's largest temporary quarantine site.
In Anting New Town of Jiading district, unmanned vehicles are used to deliver fresh fruits and vegetables to local communities. The load capacity of each vehicle is equivalent to three to four deliverymen.
Police in Huangpu district are employing drones equipped with a broadcasting system to patrol key areas and to publicize latest news and anti-pandemic prevention and control measures to the local communities.
Firefighters in Xuhui district have also launched drones to deliver medicine to nearby residents.
