About 269,200 hectares of wheat are being harvested in Baoding city in China's Hebei province. Local authorities deployed 11,000 harvesters to ensure the harvesting rate remains above 99.8%. Some grain farmers who sowed late last year used different methods to ensure a bumper crop.
In Ningjin county in China's Shandong province, another 46,667 hectares of wheat have also entered the harvest period. In order to finish the harvest before the rain arrives, more than 700 local cooperatives and collection service teams helped farmers harvest 0.53 hectares of wheat within two hours.
