Our correspondent visits the largest pumped-storage hydropower station in East China to see how it ensures electricity supply during peak summer season.
A total of six 350,000 kW pumped storage units have been installed at Changlongshan power station, which can generate 2.435 billion kWh of electricity per year, reduce coal consumption by about 210,000 tons and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 420,000 tons.
According to officials, China aims to have more than 62 million kW of pumped storage capacity by 2025.
