Local farmers reaping bumper specialty harvests across China

Farmers across China are hauling in bumper harvests of specialty fruits and cash crops with distinctive local features.

The autumn quinoa harvest season is in full swing in Guyuan county in Zhangjiakou city, North China's Hebei province. The county's quinoa planting area has ballooned to more than 2,300 hectares, and the yield is expected to reach three tons per hectare.

The apple orchards in Suide county in Northwest China's Shaanxi province are reaping bumper harvests. The total annual output of apples has reached 157,500 tons, becoming a primary source of income for locals.

Meanwhile, the tea harvest season has arrived in Fuliang county in East China's Jiangxi province, bringing laughter and joy to local farmers. In the past ten years, the tea plantation has swelled from 20 hectares to more than 200.
