A special train led by a Chinese-made large rail maintenance machine left Boten railway station in northern Laos on Tuesday, marking the completion of the first extensive maintenance and renovation of the Lao section of the China-Lao Railway.

The maintenance efforts aim to secure the safe and smooth operation of the China-Lao Railway and gear it up for the rising demand for passenger and freight transport.
