The General Office of the State Council and the Central Military Commission approved introducing the inter-ministerial joint conference system on national military recruitment work, according to a document issued by the General Office of the State Council on Nov 16.

The joint conference aims to implement major decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee, the State Council and the Central Military Commission on military recruitment, research and come up with policy suggestions, and supervise the implementation of measures and policies.

The joint conference consists of 14 departments, including the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the Ministry of Education. The National Defense Mobilization Department of the Central Military Commission will take the lead in starting and organizing the conference system.

With the  national defense minister serving as the convener, the joint conference will be organized by the Defense Ministry's recruitment office.
