The State Council approved establishing an inter-ministerial joint conference system to support self-employed businesses, in a circular released by the General Office of the State Council on Aug 24.
The new system will, among other tasks assigned by the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the State Council, be responsible for implementing decisions that benefit individual businesses and introducing policies designed for the same purpose, strengthening departmental coordination in major matters in this regard and seeking solutions to any difficult issues, as well as urging implementation by departments concerned.
Led by the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR), the joint conference also comprises 11 other departments, including the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Finance, and the People’s Bank of China.
Officials in charge of SAMR will serve as the convener for the joint conference, with an office at the administration to carry out routine work.
The joint system will hold regular or unscheduled meetings as necessary, and major issues should be reported to the State Council.
