Three administrative regulations will be abolished in order to adapt to the new state of China's population, economic and social development, optimize the fertility policy, and promote long-term balanced development of the population, according to a State Council decree signed by Premier Li Keqiang.
According to the decree released on Sept 26, the three regulations are: the regulations on administration of technical services for family planning; administrative measures for collection of social maintenance fees, and regulations on family planning for floating population.
The annulment is based on a decision from the 30th Session of the Standing Committee of the 13th National People's Congress to amend the law on population and family planning on Aug 20, 2021.
