The General Office of the State Council approved an overall plan for deepening the comprehensive reform of international trade in Yiwu, East China’s Zhejiang province, according to a circular released on Dec 11.
The circular said that efforts will be made to support Yiwu to deepen the reform in main areas and key links and encourage it to take pioneering steps in improving the trade mode on market procurement, promoting the innovative development of import trade, giving full play to the function of the comprehensive bonded zone, and advancing the improvement of cross-border e-commerce rules.
While striving to solve deep-rooted institutional and mechanism problems, Yiwu is asked to strengthen the building of integrated standards of domestic and foreign trade and promote the Belt and Road cooperation.
Measures will also be taken to support the high-quality development of China-Europe express trains in an innovative way.
As the reform gathers pace, Yiwu is expected to explore experiences in transforming China’s trade development mode and building it as a strong trade nation and contribute to expanding domestic and global markets and ensuring smooth domestic and international circulation, the circular said.
