NHC launches major health literacy campaign
The National Health Commission has decided to launch the Health Literacy Promotion Month in June to increase the public's awareness of its latest health literacy guideline for Chinese people.
This year's edition of the guideline, issued by the commission at the end of last month, provides 66 key basic knowledge points to help people maintain and improve their health.
Throughout this month, local health authorities across the country are encouraged to carry out various activities to promote the guideline, the commission said in a notice.
The activities should focus on health knowledge, including about healthy diets containing less salt, oil and sugar and more beans and milk, optimal weight, and oral and mental health, the commission said.
Plan to ensure harvest during flood season
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and three other departments have issued a plan to help ensure an adequate grain harvest during the flood season.
The country will likely see frequent floods and droughts during the flood season, the ministry said on its website, adding that the plan asked local authorities to take effective measures to lower the damage of both weather disasters.
The authorities were also required to harvest ripe crops ahead of possible typhoons, consolidate agricultural facilities and improve their resistance against such storms, and promptly replant crops affected by them.
The plan also called for heightened management to protect farmland against heat, diseases and pests. It urged strengthened monitoring on major diseases and pests affecting rice and corn, and called for efforts to be made to prevent the diseases and pests from spreading to large areas.
Special phone numbers to be created for ICVs
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said it plans to provide 100 million special mobile phone numbers for intelligent connected vehicles.
An ICV needs an "internet-of-things card" with a phone number, something similar to a SIM card, to link itself with 4G and 5G internet and provide services such as data communication with car companies, online entertainment for passengers and voice communication with emergency responders, the ministry said in a statement.
The ministry will allocate the phone numbers to telecommunication service providers according to relevant procedures.
It will also continue to improve the management of phone number resources, follow the development of the ICV sector and allocate more phone numbers for ICVs at an appropriate time.
Last year, more than 30 million automobiles were produced in China, and more than 30 million were sold, both record highs.
Measures to improve business environment
The State Administration for Market Regulation has drafted 40 key measures to improve the business environment.
The administration said it drafted the measures after convening multiple symposiums and collecting opinions from related departments, associations, companies, local market regulation authorities and free trade zones.
It said the measures were drafted to meet the requirements the State Council, China's Cabinet, made at an executive meeting in February, including nurturing a vigorous and equitable market, providing better services and more convenience to market entities, improving the rule of law and stabilizing expectations.
The administration has published the draft online and is seeking public feedback.
