Premier arrives in Uzbekistan for SCO meeting

TASHKENT -- Premier Li Keqiang arrived in Tashkent on Nov 28 to attend the 12th prime ministers’ meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states.

Li was greeted at the airport by Uzbek Prime Minister Shavkat Mirziyoev and other senior government officials.

During the SCO meeting to be held on Nov 29, Li will expound on China’s positions on deepening practical cooperation in various fields within the SCO.

The Chinese premier will also exchange views with other leaders on strengthening cooperation among SCO member states and enhancing institutional building of the organization, so as to promote regional peace, stability and development.

Li will also meet with Uzbek President Islam Karimov, and hold talks with Mirziyoev as well as leaders of other countries.

Li arrived here after wrapping up a visit to Romania, where he also attended a China-Central and Eastern Europe leaders’ meeting.
