Well-constructed underground infrastructure adds glory to the city

Premier Li Keqiang visited a construction site of a comprehensive transportation hub located in the south part of Changchun city, Jilin province on April 9.

The ongoing project includes subway, underground parking lot and underground commercial pedestrian system.

Premier Li commended the workers on the site as the heroes of city construction.

The underground facilities are invisible projects of building a city, however, only when such facilities are made sound, can a city be truly shining, he said.

The migrant workers should be paid timely

Premier Li Keqiang visited a construction site of a comprehensive transportation hub located in the south part of Changchun city, Jilin province on April 9.

It is a good idea for companies that have a great demand for labor workers to cooperate with labor service companies that located in places that have redundant labor force, Premier Li said, after learning that the construction company has worked with a labor service firm in Chongqing and paid the migrant workers in a monthly manner through wage cards.

It is not easy for the migrant workers to travel thousands of miles and find a job, efforts must be done to ensure that they could get the payments in a timely manner, he said.

Made-in-China is empowered by enterprises and their workers

Premier Li Keqiang visited the underground steel construction of a comprehensive transportation hub located in the south part of Changchun city, Jilin province on April 9.

Premier Li heard that the construction company has cooperated with a labor service company and the latter is responsible for sending required labor force.

“You are complementing with each other with your strength through such cooperation,” the Premier said.

The strength and capability of enterprises, together with the endurance and motivation of migrant workers, consist of the competitiveness of our country, he said.

Better technique brings better income

Premier Li Keqiang visited the country’s largest wire harness manufacturing company located in Changchun city, Jilin province on April 9.

The corporation, turned from a state-owned enterprise, has a total of 7,500 employees and most of them come from nearby rural areas.

Premier Li is highly concerned of these migrant workers and asked a series of questions concerning their working conditions, including whether they have been adapted to the urban life in cities, their incomes, and the living conditions compared with that back at home.

The Premier also encouraged the migrant workers to learn more techniques.

Being equipped with more techniques means higher incomes, Li told them.

Innovation in craftsmanship to be valued

Premier Li Keqiang talked about innovation with workers working on the production line when visiting the country’s largest wire harness manufacturing company located in Changchun city, Jilin province on April 9.

Innovation is a necessity for tapping into the vitality of an enterprise, he said, noting that innovation not only refers to technological advance, but also the innovation of craftsmanship, which will enable the products to be more competitive.

The Premier said that craft innovation is included in the populous innovation promoted by the government.

When you have the skill, you can eat your fill. The “skill” here is exactly the source of innovation, the Premier said.
