Premier Li Keqiang met with Grenada’s Prime Minister Keith Mitchell in Dalian, Liaoning province, on Sept 10.

Mitchell is in Dalian to attend the Annual Meeting of New Champions 2015, also known as Summer Davos Forum.

Premier Li said that ties between China and Grenada have become increasingly closer, and Grenada has become an important cooperation partner in the Caribbean region.

China appreciates Grenada’s sticking to “one China” policy, and is willing to further political mutual trust and pragmatic cooperation with the Caribbean country, Premier Li said.

China is willing to enhance communication and coordination with the country to fight climate change, and will provide aid to the Alliance of Small Island States, including Grenada, within the framework of South-South cooperation, as its capacity allows, Premier Li said.

Premier Li said that bilateral economic and trade cooperation is enjoying good momentum, and expressed hopes that the two sides will implement projects concerning people’s livelihood and infrastructure.

The Premier also hoped the two countries can strengthen cooperation in the fields of human resources training and agricultural technologies, explore cooperation in tourism, aviation and law enforcement, and expand cultural and people-to-people exchanges.

Mitchell said that Premier Li’s speech at the Summer Davos Forum illustrates the grand blueprint of China’s economic development.

Cooperation between Grenada and China has truly bore fruit. As his country is at a crucial stage of economic development, Mitchell said Grenada is willing to push forward ties and cooperation between the two countries.
