Premier Li Keqiang praised deliverymen as everyday heroes fighting the novel coronavirus epidemic when visiting the North China Air Distribution Center of SF Express in Beijing on March 6.
He heard reports on the company’s services tailored for epidemic prevention and control and the situation concerning work resumption, before extending regards to the deliverymen and taking photos with them.
Deliverymen, nicknamed “little brothers” by their customers, rush through the streets everyday to provide supplies with household needs, the Premier said. Even as the novel coronavirus outbreak began, they almost took no rest despite many industries coming to a standstill.
It is not only daily necessities they are delivering to residents, but also human warmth, he added.
Premier Li also called for society to give more care and assistance to them, and for related departments to guarantee protective equipment such as masks.
