He asked local governments and all related departments to fulfill their responsibilities with detailed plans and good preparation for major floods, drought, and disasters.

With good monitoring and forecasting, more work should be done to enhance team building in disaster relief and guarantee enough supplies, he added.

The Premier also called for prevention of typhoons, mountain torrents, urban water logging, and timely relocation of people in harm's way.

Premier Li called for the State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters and local departments to enhance command and coordination system, and to offer support for the development and safety of society.

Risk examination prior to floods should be enhanced, and supervision on safe production during floods should be stepped up. Other related work should be strengthened as well, in a bid to safeguard the safety of the water supply for agricultural production and daily use of urban and rural residents.
