Premier Li Keqiang made an instruction for the 2021 China Brand Day event, which opened on May 10 in Shanghai.
Premier Li, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said in the instruction that strengthening brand construction and enhancing the influence and competitiveness of Chinese brands should serve as an important measure to optimize supply, expand demands and promote high-quality development.
All regions and related departments should implement the policies and decisions of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, take quality and performance as top priorities, and grow awareness of brands among all society, Premier Li said.
Enterprises should be guided to adhere to professionalism and craftsmanship, increase courage and improve capacity in fair competition in an open market. While centering on the market, especially consumers' demands, enterprises should forge their brands by taking hold in innovation and striving for excellence, with active participation in international fair competition in wider opening-up, he added.
Enterprises also were encouraged to improve product and service quality, as well as comprehensive competitiveness, and make more Chinese brands reliable in domestic and overseas markets, according to the instruction.
