Premier Li Keqiang called for unremitting efforts to protect the ecological environment of Chagan Lake during an inspection tour to the city of Songyuan, Northeast China's Jilin province, on June 15.
Chagan Lake, a national nature reserve for inland wetland and water eco-system with an area of over 400 square kilometers, has become a major tourism attraction for domestic and international visitors, with mega winter fishing.
As a treasure trove of ecological resources in Northeast China, Chagan Lake helps adjust and improve the surrounding ecology, the Premier said.
Diversity and abundance of fish indicated good protection of the local ecological environment, the Premier said, urging further work to boost tourism and help bring even more fame to the lake area.
