Premier Li Keqiang paid a visit to the Lieutou Chinese School during his official visit in Laos on Sept 9.

Students warmly welcomed the Premier, and said hello to him in Chinese.

While watching students practicing calligraphy of the Chinese characters for “Mid Autumn”, the Premier said he hopes that the friendship between China and Laos can be as perfect as the full moon on Mid Autumn Day and the students can make their own contributions in taking the relationship to the next level.

The Lieutou Chinese School, established in 1937 and run by local Chinese, is a Laotian school featuring Chinese education.

When he heard that there were more than 20 volunteer teachers from China, Premier Li said he hopes they can be excellent envoys of cultural exchange between China and Laos.

“Tomorrow is teachers’ day in China. I wish you a happy holiday,” he said.

On behalf of the Chinese government, Premier Li donated computers, books and sporting equipment to the school and told them that the government will invite 100 Laotian teachers who teach Chinese to visit China.
