Premier Li Keqiang visited a shantytown north of Wolong Mountain, in Ulaanqab city, North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on Feb 2.

The shantytown is built against the mountainside, in which over 900 households are living without covered roads. The residents told the Premier that living here was hard as they need to wait in long lines for toilets and roads would become muddy when it rained and snowed.

Premier Li asked the residents whether they are willing to be relocated and reconstruct the community, and they all said yes. Intensified efforts should be made to promote shantytown renovations to let everyone move into new, warm houses as soon as possible, he said.
