Premier Li Keqiang attended a meeting on control and prevention of the novel coronavirus epidemic on Jan 27 in the Center for Disease Control and Prevention of Hubei province.

Before the meeting, Premier Li visited a biosafety level 3 (BSL-3) laboratory and inquired about progress in virus isolation and whether virus mutations have occurred.

After hearing that there have been no mutations, the Premier stressed that efforts must be made to closely monitor and timely report virus changes, which is the key to scientific and effective epidemic response.

It looks like the laboratory is small but it shoulders a heavy responsibility indeed, Premier Li said.
