Premier Li Keqiang inspected Changan Automobile Co Ltd in Southwest China’s Chongqing municipality on Aug 21.

The company, a leading enterprise in Chongqing, plays an important role in local economic development. In the first seven months of this year, the company’s sales increased 6 percent year-on-year despite the overall sales decline in the automobile industry. Besides, the company has created more than 5,000 new jobs.

Premier Li said the long industrial chain of the automobile industry represents a country's manufacturing level to some extent. Although Chinese residents’ consumption, including automobile consumption, was greatly hit during the pandemic, Changan Automobile has maintained a steady growth against the external trend.

The Premier applauded the company's great contributions to the recovery of consumption and economic growth, before sending wishes that the enterprise should carry on forward at full speed.
