Premier Li: China seeks stronger trade, investment ties with Greece

Premier Li Keqiang has wrapped up a three-day visit to Greece. The premier met Greek President Karolos Papoulias in Athens on June 20, 2014. He called for more trade and investment between the two countries.

Li said China and Greece share similar views on safeguarding world peace and promoting common development. He said China welcomes Greece’s economic and social achievements in overcoming the consequences of its sovereign debt crisis.

Premier Li said China is ready to deepen cooperation with Greece in fields such as technology, agriculture and infrastructure.

Greek President Karolos Papoulias called the Chinese premier’s visit “productive”, and said it demonstrates a willingness between the two countries to deepen bilateral ties.

Papoulias said Greece is ready to deepen cooperation and continue to play a positive role in facilitating EU-China relations.
