Premier Li Keqiang visited the Shanghai Free Trade Zone on Sept 18, 2014, ahead of the facility’s first anniversary of operations.

Li said during his visit that the free trade zone should provide more assistance for companies to develop their businesses and the government should improve management and working efficiency.

Li also said that all companies in the free trade zone, domestic and foreign, should be treated equally.

An independent organization is evaluating the free trade zone’s performance and will study such issues as registration reform and how to implement the Shanghai Free Trade Zone model elsewhere in China.
