China, Luxembourg to further boost bilateral ties

Premier Li Keqiang has met with his Luxembourg counterpart Xavier Bettel in Germany, ahead of the opening of the Hamburg Summit.

The two leaders exchanged ideas exploring both sides’ interests. Premier Li said during their meeting that China and Luxembourg have built up a strong relationship for many years with high political mutual trust as well as deep economic cooperation.

He added that China would like to further boost its communication with Luxembourg, and deepen bilateral cooperation. Li said China welcomes investors from the country and hopes Luxembourg will also assist Chinese corporations looking to invest abroad. He added that China fully supports Luxembourg’s development of its offshore markets for the RMB bond.

Meanwhile, the Luxembourg prime minister said that the two countries’ relationship is based on mutual respect and win-win cooperation and is always full of vigor. He added that Luxembourg would like to work with China to strengthen financial cooperation, and develop business opportunities in Luxembourg. Bettel also said that his country would like to play a positive role in the development of bilateral relations.
