During his meeting with the Hong Kong chief executive, Leung Chun-ying, on Dec 26, Premier Li spoke highly of his work over the year. He said Leung’s administration helped the general stability of the region, and this aided development.

Premier Li called on Hong Kong residents — and everyone who cares for the region — to cherish the benefit of this development. He also stressed that Hong Kong should fully explore its competitiveness and continue to strive for even more development.

Meanwhile, during his meeting with the Macao Chief Executive, Chui Sai-on, Li expressed hope that the region would grasp opportunities and focus on people’s livelihoods. He said Macao should strive for sustainable economic development.

Premier Li said both regions, Hong Kong and Macao, should strengthen their cooperation with the Chinese mainland and try to benefit for China’s reform and opening-up policies.
