Premier Li Keqiang held a joint press conference with his French counterpart, Manuel Valls, after their meeting on July 1 in Paris.

Li said that China and France should combine their respective strengths of production capability and a high-end technology to produce goods to meet the needs of developing countries.

During his visit to Paris, China and France co-published a third-party market cooperation agreement through which the two countries will carry out trilateral cooperation in nuclear power, high-speed trains and other areas.

Li also pointed out that China and France, as major world economies and permanent members of the UN security council, both have the responsibilities to push for world peace.

Valls said the two countries are enjoying their highest cooperation level in history. He added that the French government is supportive of the country’s companies forming joint-ventures or other forms of cooperation with Chinese companies.

Valls said France would like to strengthen communication with China in the area of climate change, and together push for a positive result at this year’s climate change conference in Paris.
