China works to enhance ecological and environmental protection, accelerating the transition to a model of green and low-carbon development, according to a government work report submitted to the national legislature for deliberation on Sunday.
By upholding and acting on the principle that "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets," the country will continually improve its ecological conservation systems, the report said.
China aims to further improve its energy mix in a systematic manner, which includes moving the manufacturing sector toward smarter and greener production, it said.
