China, Russia pledge solid military cooperation

Wei Fenghe, state councilor and defense minister, met with Oleg Salyukov, commander-in-chief of the Russian Ground Forces, in Beijing on July 3.

Wei fully affirmed China-Russian ties, with both all-around strategic partners having been through thick and thin. The implementation of the consensus reached by President Xi Jinping and President Vladimir Putin as a blueprint for China-Russian relations should also come fully into place.

An omnibearing military cooperation, Wei said, should be constantly beefed up by both armed forces, making joint efforts to tackle challenges and uphold regional and global peace.

Salyukov echoed these sentiments and said Russia is willing to stay in close coordination with China and further pragmatic cooperation, letting the China-Russian military bond forge ahead.
