State Councilor and Defense Minister Wei Fenghe attended a panel discussion with deputies from the People’s Liberation Army and the People’s Armed Police Force, at the second session of the 13th National People’s Congress in Beijing on March 6.

Facing any serious and comprehensive security situation, efforts should be made to enhance military capabilities to safeguard national sovereignty, security and interests of development, Wei said.

He also called for efforts to implement tasks and prepare for the 70th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China.
