BEIJING — Vice-Premier Han Zheng on Aug 22 underscored more efforts on pushing forward the construction of a free trade port in South China's Hainan province.
Han, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chief of the leading group on deepening all-round reform and opening-up in Hainan, made the remarks at a meeting regarding the free trade port construction.
He urged opening-up at a high level and a phased plan to advance the establishment of related policies and institutions in Hainan's free trade port.
Efforts should be made to explore financial and tax policies in line with expanding opening-up to promote trade and investment liberalization and convenience, said Han.
He also called for fostering the development of the sectors of tourism, modern services and high technologies in a bid to strengthen economic innovation and competitiveness.
