BEIJING — The 16th meeting of the China-Russia Energy Cooperation Committee was held in Beijing on Sept 6, and the two sides reviewed the outcomes of energy cooperation and reached consensus on future energy cooperation.
The meeting was co-chaired by Vice-Premier Han Zheng and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak.
Han, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, expected the two countries' enterprises to strive to achieve all-around cooperation in the upstream, middle and downstream of the energy industry, on the basis of the principle of mutual benefit and business feasibility.
Han also suggested the two sides create a better business environment for deepening energy cooperation, and expand exchanges in science and technology, standards, talents, and information while gathering efforts from various sectors such as governments, enterprises, academies and research organizations.
Kozak said the Russian side is ready to further advance all-round cooperation with China in such areas as energy and welcomes Chinese companies to expand investment in Russia's energy market, adding that Russia will extend the biggest support to key cooperation projects.
