Vice-Premier Hu Chunhua presided over the third plenary meeting of the organizing committee of the China International Import Expo (CIIE) on June 24, pressing for the sound completion of all preparatory work to ensure the success of the expo.

Despite the grave challenges brought by COVID-19, Hu said that the CIIE organizing committee should draw up response plans in a timely manner, improve special work plans, and carry forward preparation under regular epidemic prevention for a high-level and high-quality CIIE.

Hu said that integrated coordination of the preparatory work should be stepped up, and all member units should fulfill their duties, cooperate with other departments and Shanghai authorities, and tackle problems in a timely manner.

The government should beef up policy support for CIIE to benefit exhibitors and traveling traders. And Shanghai should completely fulfill duties in epidemic prevention and security as the host, and improve the emergency command system and work mechanisms along with related departments, Hu added.
