Vice-Premier Hu Chunhua, also head of the central rural work leading group, attended activities celebrating the 2020 Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival in North China's Shanxi province on Sept 22.
Under President Xi Jinping's instruction and decisions made by the Central Committee of the Communist Party and the State Council, efforts should be made to foster an atmosphere in society where agriculture, rural areas and farmers are cared for, and bring together more drivers for rural vitalization, Hu said.
At an exposition park on Yellow River farming culture in Wanrong county, Yuncheng city, Hu visited special agricultural products and industry-aided poverty alleviation exhibitions.
He also issued certificates for national top 10 farmers and excellent agricultural technicians.
President Xi has been extending festival greetings to farmers nationwide over the last three years, which fully demonstrates the Central Committee of the CPC's high expectations for the harvest festival and overall rural revitalization, Hu said.
With many hindrances and challenges emerging this year, the agricultural harvest is a hard-won achievement, whose credit goes to masses of farmers and grassroots cadres' strenuous efforts.
The agricultural harvest festival is a great demonstration of the harvest against the backdrop of epidemic prevention and new achievements, which will help bring out millions of farmers' activity, initiative and creativity into full play, and let their blueprint of a better life come true.
Hu also inspected some counties in Linfen city and Yuncheng city for autumn grain production, agricultural technologies and rural living environment improvements.
