Vice-Premier Hu Chunhua, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the 12th Expo Central China, which kicked off in Taiyuan, capital of North China's Shanxi province, on May 21.
Noting the rapid economic growth in the central region, Hu said the Chinese government will further support the central region to build a modern industrial system, undertake domestic and international industrial transfer projects, promote inland opening-up, create a market-oriented, rule-based, and international business environment, and eventually play a bigger role in establishing a new development paradigm and pushing forward high-quality development.
China will continue to undertake endeavors to bolster opening-up and welcome enterprises worldwide to invest in the central region, Hu said.
Hu also presided over a symposium on foreign-invested enterprises in Taiyuan on the afternoon of May 21.
