BEIJING — Vice-Premier Hu Chunhua called for further cooperation among China, Japan, the Republic of Korea (ROK) and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) to ensure smooth operation of industrial and supply chains to facilitate long-term prosperity in the region.

Hu made the remarks on July 29 when delivering a video speech at an ASEAN plus China, Japan and the ROK (10+3) forum on industrial chain and supply chain cooperation, which was held in Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province.

Hu said the international situation has been complex and the security and stability of global industrial and supply chains are facing severe tests.

It is very important for China, Japan, the ROK and ASEAN to strengthen opening up and cooperation and ensure the smooth operation of industrial and supply chains in order to improve risk-prevention capabilities and promote the long-term prosperity in the region, he said.

China is willing to work with all parties to improve the level of regional free trade zone building, focus on enhancing the overall strength of the regional industrial chain, continue to promote the supporting role of connectivity, and strive to foster new momentum for cooperation, he said.

Hu also expressed the wish that entrepreneurs from all over the world will invest in China, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, and carry out more secure, stable and higher-level cooperation of industrial and supply chains.
