BEIJING — Chinese authorities rolled out a raft of measures to enhance the security of the country's industrial internet on Aug 28.
The country plans to establish a complete and reliable industrial internet security system by 2025, according to a guideline released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and nine other government agencies.
As important new-generation information technology, industrial internet provides a foundation for the digital, internet and intelligent transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry.
According to the guideline, China decided to cultivate a number of firms with core technologies and market competitiveness in industrial internet security and develop pilot security products and solutions to be tested in sectors including automobile, electronic information, and energy.
Technological innovation of industrial internet security should be enhanced through strengthening security research; encouraging professional institutions, colleges and enterprises to build security labs; and using new technologies such as artificial intelligence and block chain to improve internet security protection, it said.
The guideline also called for the establishment of industrial internet security standards in key fields including industrial internet equipment, platforms, and data, and encouraged related institutions and enterprises to participate in the move.
